Dennis Lee Leonard 49 Villisca was born to Delman W and Claudine A Bissell Leonard Feb 26 1948 just west of Bushvitie in Taylor County He died March 22 1997 In a traffic accident south of Corning He attended rural school In Taylor County His family moved to California In 1955 where he completed his schooling He returned to Iowa every summer living on the farm with Is uncle and aunt Harold and Lillian Leonard Mr Leonard loved the outdoors and farming and worked for several local farmers He is survived by his parents Delmah and Claudine Leonard of Bedford children Michael Leonard Signal Hill Calif Dustln Leonard Ambera Leonard and Tonya Leonard all of Temacula Calif sisters Janet husband Gil Villasenor Lomlta Calif and Virginia husband Al Young Lakewood Calif brothers Melvyn wife Georgianna Leonard Los Alamltos Calif and Eueene wife Sandy Leonard Long Beach Calif Services were held March 26 at CoenBeaty Funeral Home in Corning with Rev Ken Rummer pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating J Private family inurnment services were at a later date Memorials are to his family Marvin Elwood Marvin Elwood 61 Red Oak was born to Arthur and Leola Herring Elwood Oct 23 1935 at Prescott He died March 27 1997 at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak after a fivemonth battle with cancer He attended grade school in Corning and graduated from Red Oak High School in 1953 He served in the US Navy 1953 to 1957 and in the Naval Reserves until 1961 He was married to Shirley Colvin Aug 17 1957 in Red Oak They started farming In 1958 and farmed until January of 1996 then moved to Red Oak in March He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Red Oak He enjoyed bowling eolf and just being outdoors Mr Elwood was preceded in death by his father He is survived by his wife twin daughters Jean husband Steve Stribling Shenandoah and Jane husband Mike Ketcham Man ning son Mark wife Amy Elwood Bethesda mother Lepla El wood Red Oak eight grandchildren and sister Carol husband Melvin Howard Creston Services were held March 31 at the First United Methodist Church in Red Oak with Rev Gordon Watson officiating Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Red Oak Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church SellergrenLindellDeMarce Funeral Home Red Oak was in charge of arrangements Zelda Walter Zelda Jane Laney Walter 64 Chapel Hill NC died March 13 1997 at Duke University Medical Center Durham NC She was born April 12 1932 to Robert and Hulda Ashburn Laney in Nogales Ariz She was married to Robert D Walter of Nodaway on Dec 25 1955 at the home of her parents in Nogales Ariz They were the parents of one son Mrs Walter was preceded in death by her father and her par entsinlaw James and Lucille Walter She is survived by her husband son Scott wife Holly Walter Raleigh NC two grandsons and her mother Memorial services were held March 22 at University Presbyte rian Church Chapel Hill NC Inurnment was in Westwood Calif Memorials may be sent to the Zelda Walter Memorial Duke Cancer Center Box 3828 Durham NC 27710 Herman R Davison Herman Ray Davison oldest son of Harvey and Sahal Davison rural Prescott and Lenox died Feb 14 1997 at the Veterans Medical Center in Ltvermore Calif He was bom In Hopkins Mo and moved to Precott in 1940 He joined the US Navy in 1941 and was a retired Chief Petty Officer Her served from 1941 to 1960 in many parts of the world He was a member of VFW and DAV Mr Davison is survived by his wife of 53 years Bernice Schaffer Davison Modesto Calif children Judith Ann Hill and Deborah Davison Anchorage Alaska Michael San Leandro Calif and Rebekah Bennet of El Dorado Hills Calif brothers Harley Van Duseji Mo Jerry Panels Calif Donald of Pittsburg and sisters Leona Pfeiffer Yuma Ariz and Karen of Minnesota seven grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren Burial was Feb 18 at Lakewood Calif Death He is survived by his wife Clara Mae McKee of Emerson son Wade McKee of Emerson and daughter Debbie Lewis of Red Oak There will be open visitation after 10 am Wednesday at the funeral home Memorials are to the family Funeral services for Richard Lee Dick McKee rural Emer son will be held at the Coen Beaty Funeral Flome in Corning at 2 pm Wednesday Burial will be In Oak Hill Cemetery in Corning Mr McKee died March 31 at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital In Red Oak News briefs Two are AIB
